RSVP Question

So here is my problem. My FI and I live in the US but my parents live in the UK, we're getting married in the US and I am struggling with invites. We're trying to save money where possible and so I'm DIYing our invites - actually quite good since they will cost around 60c each and I can make corresponding order of service for the ceremony too. BUT I would like to have all RSVPs online - I have a few reasons: 1.) international postage is very expensive, either if we provided the stamps or if we wanted our guests to go out and purchase an international stamp, 2.) our invites will read that my parents are inviting our guests ...sooo RSVPs should really go to their address if they were mailed (their in the UK), 3) my invites dont really accomodate inserts ... not a big deal but it helps me lean to online responses. We would also provide a telephone number if people wanted to phone in their RSVP / will call Gparents who may not be as technically savy but for the most part, our guests all have internet access. Can you all tell me if this is good idea or are their better options? Any suggestions for sites to use for RSVPs would be great too!!

Thanks!

</div><div>Technically, yes, they should go to your parents.  But, it is common for them to go to the couple.  In this situation, I would expect it.  I'd just have the RSVPs sent back to you.  I really dislike electronic RSVPs for such an important event.

  • Athough it is traditional for RSVPs to go to the hosts, if that is not logistically feasible then then can go to the couple and that's what I would do in your situation.

Online responses are only good if everyone invited is Internet-savvy, and even then they have a less formal, "not as important" aura that often leads people to blow them off.  Use mail that is going back to you.
