Help with colors!

Ladies,

I am getting married on July 4th in an all wood building.  My dress is by Maggie Sottero and is light gold.  I an trying to find a color that will stand out in the building but not clash with my dress.  What do you guys think?

Re: Help with colors!

  • Any color goes with gold.  I would stay away from gray or silver.

  • Ditto Mel. Almost anything will go well with the gold, and most colors will probably stand out just fine against the wood. What colors do you like?
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

What colors are your bridesmaids wearing, and/or what color does your FI want to wear?

That could help you pick an accent color.

What color flowers have you ordered?

Seems like there's some missing information here, if your wedding really is in less than 3 months.

<div>My venue was booked into the next year and we really wanted to get married sooner than that, we have been engaged for five years.  The manager called a couple weeks ago to let us know one of her July 4th weddings was canceled.  So we took it on a whim, hence the panic.  I was thinking about black, ivory, and chamapagne but I am worried that there will not be enough color.  Is that too dark for a summer wedding?  I also like blush pink, champagne, and ivory.  I am not a very girly, giry but love those colors.</div>

<div>I'm not very girly either, but our colors are blush pink, ivory, and gray.  If you like it, go with it.  </div>

  • How about some shade of blue, like an aqua/turquoise/ocean/ who knows what other names they have for these. (Pool, at David's Bridal?)

That would really pop, wouldn't it?
  • I would definitely do something bright that would "pop" agaisnt the gold - I like the blue idea or even orange/coral would be beautiful for the summer.  Blush pink might be light against the gold and then you stand the chance of everything looking washed out.  Would you do a deeper pink?   I love bright colors with neutrals, the photos will be absolutley beautiful!
