Rsvp for ceremony and reception

Hello! So another question...
We are having an unusally large wedding...my fiancé is from the country and country weddings are usually about 600-700 people. I know...that's A LOT! anyways, the church holds less than those numbers so to help 'prepare' I wanted to know if it was appropriate to put a check mark on the rsvp cards for both the reception and ceremony. This way I kinda have an idea of how many extra chairs i'll need to set up in the church as well as number of people attending the reception...

    You really shouldn't invite more people than your space can hold. We hear awful stories around here all the time about more people RSVPing than they expected and they had to scramble to find a new venue. That being said, I wouldn't include different lines. Most people that RSVP yes are coming o both.

    Ditto PP.  Most people will attend both.  And those that won't will usually write a little note on the RSVP card telling you otherwise.

    You create the guests list.  The guests do not.

    Figure out your budget, figure out how many butts your venue can seat, count on 100% attendance and create the guest list.  I seriously doubt the two of your or your families know 600-700 people so why on earth would you invite them to your wedding????

    Oh, a friend of mine had over 400 people at her country wedding.  Her DH, BIL, and FIL farm 4000+ acres and their community has some outrageously huge weddings.  EVERYBODY comes.  She wanted a tiny wedding but her MIL pushed hard and offered to pay for the caterer got her way and they invited just under 500 people.

    OP - how many people can you fit comforably in the church.  Yes, you can squeeze a ton of chairs in there, but that doesn't mean it will be comfortable.  Do not invite anymore than you can comfortably fit in the church.  Think how hot it would be in July with 500 people in a church that seats 375 comfortably.  A/C can't keep up with that.

    Don't invite more than the church can hold. And just use one line on the RSVP.  And if they say yes, assume they are coming to both, and have the proper number of seats.
