Had a HORRIBLE experience with the caterer - Butler's Pantry. Closed the bar down an hour early which essentially ended the party. Rude personnel and food wasn't even that good.
What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
did you try the food before u booked with them a good cater will sit you down with some sample items that they choose or you chose so you can taste the food. did you have in your contract full bar for the whole time also with state laws ex in CT Saturday wedding receptions last call for liquor is 130 if the bar was still suposed to run and it early in the evening then they should have kept open what did your contract say. always do your research when booking vendors
ask for refrences ask to try food
get everything in detailed writing and signed
make your intentions clear full bar the whole night
did you try contacting them to see if they can do something for you
