Has anyone out there ever tried Heels Above or Starlettos or Solemates? My outdoor wedding is in 54 days! And myself and my bridal party don't know which ones to buy. All reviews and suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
Solemates work great. A word of caution, though. Make sure when they arrive, you try them on your heels to make sure they fit! I failed to do that for my wedding shoes, and I tried them for the first time the morning of. They didn't fit. Because of the ground being wet, I didn't feel comfortable wearing my heels w/o them, so I got married completely barefoot. In the end, it was one of the things I loved about my wedding day, but I hated that I wasted money on shoes I didn't wear until the reception!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
I told the gals they could wear whatever they please. Heels, flats, wedges, barefoot... Turns out they all want to wear smoking hot heels. To itzMS - which brand did you try?
I have solemates that I've worn for outdoor weddings in the past. They worked pretty well. I have yet to find a product that will stop any and all sinking, sadly. One thing my sister-in-law did was buy some cheap wedges for herself for the outdoor wedding pictures that were the same height as her shoes. No sinking and she wasn't worried about falling.

In addition to solemates or something similar, have you given any thought into purchasing some 12x12 paving stones or cutting out some plywood in a square or circle shape for your BMs to stand on during your ceremony? Because no matter which heel protector you use, standing on grass in heels for any amount of time is difficult.

<div> </div><div>This. We are doing this for our wedding for both the BMs and GMs plus a wider square for FI and I to stand on. Paver stones are super cheap at home depot or somewhere similar. I think other than sinking the BM will be more comfortable on these than just grass if they are wearing heels. If you also do narrow plywood (also very cheap usually) under an aisle runner, you don't have to worry about getting those smoking hot heels dirty! And the guest might like it too. If no aisle runner, NBD, the paver stones will still be nice.</div>
Has anyone else had any experience with sole mates or something else? The reviews on Amazon are mostly negative so I'm wondering if I should even bother.
We were all sinking and wobbly at the rehearsal, so I ran to DB the morning of the wedding of the bride and the other BMs. They worked great! I actually wore them all night because the heels of the shoes were thinner than I was used to and it added some stability!
Re: Heel Protectors for Outdoor Wedding?
Consider letting your bridesmaids wear flats.
I wore solemates and they worked well for us. however, If the grass is very wet, you will still sink.
