Which style of dress?

Hi everyone,

my wedding will take place in a garden in the month of August. I really like A-Line dresses but I'm wondering if another style of dress would work better with the venue.

Can I have your thought on it? What style of dress will you wear/ had wear ?

    I think an Aline would be lovely. Do you have any particular ones in mind?

    However, I would probably pick a dress based more on what I love and what looks good on me, rather than what suits the venue, kwim? If you've tried A-lines on and like them, there isn't any reason to not wear it, just because you are outside.

    I wore a tea-length, and loved it. I would have chosen it even if I had gotten married inside, but it was pretty great to not worry about grass stains, snagging leaves, or overheating. I know August would be much too hot and humid here to consider a heavy dress, but your climate may be more forgiving.

    You might want to also post this on Attire & Accesories (put XP in the title if you do), since that board gets more traffic.

    agree with pp. Wear what you love. My dress was way more formal than the outdoor setting but I loved it. It had a long train which is not practical outdoors.

    Hutch, I love that lacy detail around the bottom of your dress! Practicality is overrated sometimes.

    I would rather pick a dress that looks absolutely amazing on me that might be a little less traditional in the setting over a dress that looks so-so on me that "fits" the theme better.  For me, I knew it was going to be A-Line.....that silhoutte works best for my body type.

    I really love A-line dresses but also love some other styles. Thats why I was asking if it was a bad idea to have an a-line for an outdoor venue. And of what I just read, it's seems like not at all.

    When it comes to your wedding dress, get something you will love!  You want to look great and FEEL great in your dress.
