Nice venue on Long Island?

Hi all! My boyfriend and I are planning on getting married next year and I'm from Long Island, NY and he is from Australia. We both want to get married in NY, but we have a somewhat tight budget. It will be a small wedding because we only have a small amount of close family and friends. When I say small I mean small, probably around 50 people or less.

I was kind of just curious to see if anyone had any ideas for nice reception halls that won't cost an arm and a leg lol. I'm not sure where we would want to have the ceremony, but I feel like that is easier to make look nicer with a small amount of people. I feel like the reception hall has to be somewhat small otherwise a big hall with not many people will look ridiculous. Any imput would be great! I'm really just looking for something pretty, comfortable and somewhat inexpensive (if possible on Long Island). Thanks!

You should also post this on the LI board. This board is for everyone from everywhere so you have a better shot at suggestion on our local LI board. I am an LI native but I cant help you bc I an having a humungous wedding and we only looked at large venues. Good luck on your search!

  • You could look at the Fox Hollow in Woodbury.  They have several different rooms; the winter garden room is on the smaller side and would host 50 people for dinner and dancing without looking too large.  Their prices range considerably but if you are willing to do a Fri or Sunday in off-season you could get a good deal.   I think Sundays in an off-season would be as low as $60pp, and they include a lot of food in their packages.
