Shower gifts delivered to the house....

What do you ladies think....wait and bring it to the shower, wait until after the shower, or open it when you receive it?

I had a nice, big Bed Bath & Beyond box waiting for me at my door today. My fiance thinks we should wait until the shower, to which I replied "I have no idea when it is, how will I know to bring it"....and he says he has it covered. Therefore, I'm waiting for the shower!

Just curious as to what you are doing with any special deliveries!! :)

    no deliveries yet )= my family is the last minute kind.. they dont feel the need to even RSVP.

    I think it's fine to open it so you can get a thank you note out right away. It's possible that someone sent it and can't attend the shower. Or it could just be a very early wedding gift? It's likely the sender knows that it was on it's way to you and would be happy to hear you got it. I know that if I got a gift now I'd need to open it because my shower isn't until June and I'd feel rude waiting that long to send a thank you.

    Agree with misskristen. I received a bunch of gifts both before and after my shower. I opened them right away and sent thank you notes. I knew they were from people who couldn't attend but I still would open them regardless so the sender knows you received it.

    I ripped them open the second the UPS man handed them to me! haha Then again, I'm the WORST with this stuff - I stalk my registry hourly. One gift came by accident (an elderly neighbor didn't understand the shipping options), one came from an aunt who just didn't feel like carrying things to the shower lol (it was a really big stock pot, in her defense) and some came from people who could not attend. Tomorrow is my big day, I can't wait!!!

    If your shower is soon, I think it would be fun to wait and open them along with the shower gifts. But my shower isn't until June, and I haven't even registered yet!

    We've been receiving gifts since the Save the Dates went out around Thanksgiving.  I would open the gifts so that you can send out thank you notes.  We did so right away and received many happy comments about our prompt thank yous.

    My shower is next weekend... my mom brought some gifts to me from my family in another proving when I saw her a few weeks ago.  It's killing me to have them sitting, wrapped, in my spare room.  But, I know they are intended to be shower gifts, so I am waiting until next week to open them at my shower.
