"Abs are made in the kitchen"

Just curious where this came from! Did it originate on the boards, or is it a quote from a fitness guru?

Re: "Abs are made in the kitchen"

  • Not sure, but I have seen it over and over in my health and fitness books, nutrition guides, Pinterest, you name it.
Could not be more true, though.
  • It seems to be an old adage, I don't think one would be able to confirm who coined it.

+1 on the fact that it could not be more true.
  • Sounds like one of those old sayings, like how my grandmother used to say "a moment on the lips, forever on the hips"...they're just catchy little things that stick with you.

  • My kitchen just made m&m cookies and dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread (I had to bake for a panel I'm on) and, so, it will not be making abs this week (but it will make for one very happy H!)

    That's all I have to add :)
    Anniversary
  • Thanks! I guess I've just never heard it before!

This goes along the lines of, "The best exercise is to push yourself away from the plate."

Or, shake your head from side to side. Repeat every time someone offers you food.

My hubby and I are going to be making oreo cupcakes this afternoon. We will not be making abs. lol
  • aaahahhahaha ohhh lobsters :) I <3 you.
  • I've heard the girl from blogilates say it quite a bit. Not sure if she coined it or not, but she states it as if she did.
