The deed is done! The venue was absolutely beyond my expecations. The room was gorgeous, all of the details came together. The backdrops and lighting werewonderful! Our flowers were unbelievable!! We really didn't have any problems with the actual wedding/reception. It was so much fun and it flew by of course!
One of my regrets is my hair. I was not happy with it. I knew better and should have done it myself. My makeup was great to begin with but for some reason I never touched it up or even put lip gloss on throughout the night. I felt that I looked better on a daily basis than I did on my wedding day and I"m so so bummed. I wanted to feel beautiful and I didn't. Of course everyone tells you that you look great, but I knew I didn't. So my biggest regret was not doing my own hair. I just didn't feel myself. Loved my dress, but of course should have tried harder to get in shape!
Oh and my bustle broke early in the evening when someone stepped on it so I had to carry the train around all night. That was not fun!
We didn't eat. We were up going to the tables so we didn't eat anything but the pasta appetizer! We were dissappointed because everyone raved about the food. But we wanted to be sure we got around to everyone.
I feel like I didn't talk to enough people. We were on the dancefloor most of the night. It just went so fast.
Other than that, the day really was perfect. There had been flooding in Chicago the days leading up to it. But all but 2 of our out of town guests made it. The food was great, the people were great, and my husband is the best guy ever.
We made a few sports blogs due to our Chicago Blackhawks jerseys. Oduya is a real hockey player so we got that jersey for my husband and had one custom made for me that said Oh I Do. My niece posted it on the Blackhawks facebook and somehow it went to pinterest then from there it was twittered a ton and got to sportsblogs. If you google Oduya wedding, there we are! LOL. We put the jerseys on during the reception when we played the Blackhawks theme song. It was great
Overall all of our planning ended up to be beyond what we could have imagined. Everyone loved our favors and personal touches. Our wedding was us. Our personalities were reflected and that's what we wanted.
