save the date (after wedding celebration) wording

My fiance & I are getting married in Kauai. We are inviting all 200 people on our list but know that we will only have about 40 people who can actually make it. We are also having a party in Colorado to celebrate with those who cant make it to Kauai.

Im sending out save the dates postcards for kauai next week (these have already been made). I am also going to send out save the dates for a party for are having in Colorado upon our retutn. I am having a hard time with the wording for the Colorado Celebration save the dates as everything sounds confusing as if we are getting married here.

any suggestions?

Please Save the Date for the at home reception of
    FaerieMoonbeams and FI
    October 12, 2013
    Formal invitation to follow

The happy couple will be married September 28, 2013 in Kauai, Hawaii

FWIW, why are you just now sending out STDs 5 months out from your wedding? Seems like you probablyyyyyyyy should've sent those a bit sooner?
  • Honestly I'd skip the STDs for the AHR. I'm not really a huge fan of STDs in general, but I really think they are unnecessary for a party. Just put the AHR info on your website and spread the word that it will be happening. I don't think people need more than 6-8 weeks notice for an AHR.

FTR, I totally agree with you. Just wanted to give the OP something halfway decent to work with, since it appears she's set on the idea.
