Even the CDC has wedding advice...

Just thought I'd share.  Saw an article in my local paper this morning saying that the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for those who may not know) has a section on their website with tips for a healthy and safe wedding.

Re: Even the CDC has wedding advice...

  • This is kind of....a waste of my time to even read.  It seems to just tell you everything that one's highschool health teacher would have mentioned, "Get 7-9 hours of sleep, alcohol is bad and don't smoke" I guess it doesn't hurt to throw it up there, it just seems random to me for the CDC to do that.

June 1, 2013 - finally making it official!

  • Really?  Is it me or  is that just advice for everyday life with the word "wedding" put in front?

Weird.  Seems like there are more important things the CDC can be working on.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Yes, I was amazed at this ground-breaking advice: "if you want to lose weight, do more physical activity." Who knew!!
  • This is like their Zombie Apocalypse Plan.  They just use a catchy title to get 'normal' info out to people.  It's a good marketing strategy apparently.

<div>You know, I'm cool with the Zombie Apocalypse stuff because maybe it'll draw attention to the fact that a lot of people don't have emergency preparedness plans. I live in a major hurricane zone and every year we're like "Eh, whatevs, it's wind and rain" but if we got something serious (like over cat 2) I think there are a lot of people who'd be royally boned.</div><div>
    </div><div>Rant over.</div>
