Awapuhi vs billion dollar keratin treatment

I would very much like $300 to spend on magical keratin juice that makes my hair gorgeous for months, but oh dear lord no. Just, no.

My salon has a $25 Awapuhi Wild Ginger Treatment (Paul Mitchell I think) - anybody ever done this? I know it won't be dramatic like the hardcore keratin stuff, but does it actually do anything? That's quite a price difference for things that are supposed to do essentially the same thing, just wondering if anybody's done it and had fabulous results. Also: Any reason I should have it done at the salon vs just buying it online and doing it at home?

I totally searched first and made sure I spelled awapuhi correctly so if I'm repeating anybody it's totally TK's fault. ;)

I can't speak for it personally, but my girlfriend only uses a Paul Mitchell salon and gets those treatments done every time she goes. She swears by them.

</div><div>I've seen Groupon run specials for Keratin Treatments at $90.  I know Groupon offers vary by market, but it could be worth a shot.  </div>

Agree with the group deals.  I have gotten groupons for the Keratin treatment in NYC for under $100.  You should also search spa week deals (it is definitely a NY thing, where lots of spas/beauty treatment places have deals for many of their services).  If you could find a deal it is SO worth it.
