Opinions, please? Bridal and bachelorette party...combine or no?

So, my bridesmaids want to know if I want to combine my bridal shower and bachelorette party...it would kick off later on a Saturday and move into a night time event.  Then, we would go out dancing.  I don't mind, but I don't know if some of the other guests would be offended.  Thoughts??

    We did that for my bridal shower and bachelorette party because it was best for all of my bridesmaids because everyone already had that weekend free for the shower.  However, we did not actually combine the two, they just happened to be on the same day.  My bridal shower was for around 2 and was for all family and friends.  The bridal shower was done around 530 or so and after everyone left, the bridesmaids and I got ready at the house that the shower was at and we headed out for the night for my bachelorette party.  Anyone that was invited to the bachelorette party knew ahead of time and stayed after the shower but the bachelorette party was not advertised to anyone at the shower.  I'm not sure if you wanted it to be a dual party but it definitely doesn't have to be, even if you want it on the same day.

    i say leave them seperate.  i had originally thought that it was a good idea to combine when i read this, but the more i think about my future mother-in-law joining us for burlesque the more i want to vomit!  :P

    I had three different bridal showers.  One with my mother's friends and family in Louisiana, one with my MIL in Massachusetts, and one with my friends in NYC.  We just did my bridal shower on the same day as the bachelorette in NYC, which was easy because everyone was invited to both events.

    Thanks, ladies.  Seems like the bridesmaids are starting to flip out.  At least 2 of them are.  They have decided that they don't want to contribute unless we go with their ideas.  Wow.  And I thought that this was my day.

    This is actually what we are doing. The shower is on the northshore until around 6, and then we're heading to Nola! 
    Try not to focus on your bridesmaid woes. I am going through the same thing right now, and I realized if they don't want to cooperate, I'm not going to care! After all, we're not supposed to plan the parties anyway!
