College Students as your photographer

Hi All!!

Has anyone ever or known anyone that used a College student majoring in Photography (fine arts) as their wedding photographer?  I'm trying to plan on a strict budget and I've heard of this option being very affordable but didnt' know if anyone has used one before.

    I am using a recently graduated student with a fine arts degree. She works with another photographer, and for the 2 of them all day I'm pay $800. Their portfolios look amazing, and I know we are getting them for a steal!

    WOW that is awesome price for 2 photograhers!!!  Do they have a website or is there a way I can get their contact info?  I would like to see their profolio work...

    DO NOT DO IT!! I totally considered going that route, then talked to a few of my married friends. you want someone who's shot WEDDINGS before. after the wedding, the pictures are ALL you have left!!! :( it makes me sad when I hear people wanting to skim on their pictures!!! If i could afford it, i'd fly max wagner out here to shoot ours!
