Exquisite Bride in Millburn

Anyone have experiences dress shopping here? I have an appointment coming up.

One thing I'm especially curious about -- do they let you take pictures of the dresses you try on?

Re: Exquisite Bride in Millburn

  • I was going to make an appointment there until I called them and they told me their dresses were $3500 and up! That was more than I wanted to spend so I didn't make an appointment.

  • Hm...When I called to make an appointment I told them that I didn't want to spend more than $3,000 (absolute max) and they said they could work with that between some of the designers they carry and sample dresses.

I definitely don't want to spend more than $3k and prefer to stay around $2,000 to $2,500. Any other good stores you recommend?

Where do you live? I ended up getting my dress at a shop out in Andover (Sussex county) although I looked at a lot of places in Morris, Hunterdon and Essex. I Do, I Do in Morristown was a really nice experience although in the end I didn't find "the" dress there. There was also a beautiful shop in Lebanon (Hunterdon country) called Three Graces. The owner was very nice and it was a very personal, non-rushed experience.

<div>I went to an appointment there. they do not allow you to take pics and they even have a sign that says no camera allowed.  they do not have any great dresses below 3000. And one thing once you tell them your budget is below 3500, they start making you feel bad. DO NOT GO THERE.</div><div>

  • Wow - okay good to know Aracely123, thank you!

I live in Morris County - but on the edge near Sommerset and Union.

I have an appointment at I Do I Do in Morisstown as well. Are there any other stores in that area anyone recommends?

I want to try to do two stores in one day since my sister (from California) will be in town and want to share the experience with her.

    thanks!

I ended up getting mine in Manhasset.. But LOVED I Do I Do!  They weren't pushy there at all, and it was my first day trying on gowns so they encouraged me to try on everything and anything.  Also, Elizabeth Johns is in Morristown, closer to Basking Ridge. I didn't love it there.  Their website made me so exciting for my appnt. and I just was not impressed.

I went to Red Carpet in Milburn as well, and they were very nice, just seemed to have a selection of dresses that wasn't my style.

There's a small shop called Say I Do in Caldwell, and the owner was soo sweet; I actually might go to her for my alterations.   Also, I would check out Jaehee in Englewood.. not sure how far that is to you.

  • I would recommend going to Elizabeth Johns in Morristown as well. I had a great experience there!
  • I'm so glad I posted the question!

I've cancelled my appointment at Exquisite Bride (I don't need anyone making me feel bad about sticking to a budget!) and have one day set for I Do I Do in Morristown and Three Graces in Lebanon. If I don't fall in love with a dress at either store I'll try Say I Do and Elizabeth John's.

    thanks for all the suggestions!
  • Good choices! Let us know how it goes!

  • M sister got her gown at the Exquisite Bride in Princeton and they would not let you take any pictures until after you decided which dress you were going to buy.
  • If you're up for taking a ride, I got my dress at Castle Couture in Malboro and absolutely loved it there.  The shop is beautiful and they have a great selection of dresses in various price ranges.  I got a Pronovias dress there for under $1000.  They consultants are wonderful and will work with you no matter what your budget is.  And they recently started letting brides take pictures there.

  • I bought my dress at Exquisite Bride and had a really positive experience. Everyone was really helpful to me and when I found THE dress and tried it on, the designer (Sareh Nouri) came out and personally adjusted and measured for me which was kind of cool. They let me go at my own pace and comb tthrough the store 10,000,000 times :)

That said, I always feel horrible when I hear stories about bridal shops being snooty towards customers or potential customers. You could always take a look and just see what you think.
