Bridesmaid dress- opinions?

I am very, very style-challenged. I'm happy to have my bridesmaids wear something that they are comfortable in, rather than having everyone being matchy. That being said, two of the three have found the same dress that they like. The third one hasn't really looked into it yet. Ideally, I want them to have something that they can wear again. We're paying for the dresses, but it seems silly to get something that will be worn once.

Two of my bridesmaids really like this dress:

We wanted black because it looks nice on most people, and all 3 bridesmaids are really spread out geographically, so it would be easier.

Would this dress be appropriate as a bridesmaid dress? The wedding isn't super fancy, but the guys will be in tuxedos.

Yes! After the wedding it will be their go-to dress for any special occasion. It's nice to know that you're choosing something that your friends will wear more than once. The dress you are showing is really cute and I'm sure it will look good on all of them. And don't worry about it being appropriate, black bridesmaid dresses are becoming increasingly popular these days- they're so chic and totally classic. The dress you are showing is definitely bridemaid-worthy.

Yes! I have a black dress that looks very similar to that. I love to wear it to fancy dinners.

Thank you all for weighing in. I'm happy if my BMs are happy. I'm just worried that they style be appropriate as a bridesmaid dress. It's from a regular clothing store, not a bridal store, and like I said, I'm style-challenged, so wasn't sure.

Hey, when I go bridesmaid shopping I'll be doing the exact same thing and going to a regular clothing store. There are so many beautiful dresses outside bridal stores as well, including the one you have picked. It looks great for a bridesmaid dress!
