Buying Wine in Bulk

We are only doing wine and beer at our wedding. We're getting keggs for the beer, but I'm wanting to buy wine online by bulk. I've found one store that sells online, but they don't ship to my location. *Sigh*

If anyone knows of a store that sells wine in bulk online, PLEASE, let me know! I would greatly appreciate it! :)

You may not be able to ship directly to your home.  You may need to order through a vineyard, winery or licensed retailer - it all depends on the regulations in your state.  I'm not sure if there is one up-to-date site where you can verify what the laws are for your state, but you may need ask some questions of a retailer or do some additional research on your own.

  • You also might want to post this on your local wedding board, as there may be places in the area of your wedding or where you live that is a wine warehouse.

See "Local Wedding Boards" to the left, click on it and the various local boards come up.

If you can't find a place really near you, it may pay to drive a few hours to another state or area. Liquor laws are generally local, by state, county, city, etc, and most states have their own laws on pricing and how competitive a store can be when pricing.

Also, look into Trader Joe's or Aldi's, they have really good wines for lower prices. If there isn't one near you, look for the closest one and maybe take a trip to get your wine.

    Good luck.
  • i agree with PP... ask your local board.
you might also ask around to local vineyards and liquor stores to see if you can work out a deal with them.
  • We are buying ours from a Macadoodles liquor store here. They worked out a great deal with us. We are serving wine, 2-3 different beers and 1-2 signature drinks
  • We ordered cases of wine through Total Wines and more and we are picking the purchase up in store rather than paying for shipping which was pricey.  I don't know if you have a Total Wines where you live but there really reasonable.  Another option that is similar is ordering a case of wine from your local grocery store- our friends did this for their wedding. Hope that helps :)
