What Do You Think Will Happen..

If More People Came Than We Paid For.?? We Paid For 100ppl But I'm Scared That Some People We Had To Cut Will Come Anyways. We Cut Them Without Them Knowing. Just Didn't Send An Invite. I Feel Like They Only Make Plates For 100ppl. But We're Doing Family Style So It's Gonna Be Extra Food. I Mean Do They Really Have Someone There Counting Each Person.?? Will They Bill Me For The Extras.?? Idk.

They might bill you for extras but my concern was they would have no seat. Like literally no chair. I've been to weddings where they had to roll out extra tables with no decor , nothing...

You should ask your venue about the policy

  • I wouldn't worry too much - if they didn't get an invite, chances are they'll get the message and not show...

  • I had this same question. I was thinking maybe they would bill you for the extra but Im not even sure if they would bring extra food and if so how much they would bring.  Also, another concern as MissJ said would be seating. Like she said, you may have to ask the venue about this.

  • My venue makes extra food for the unexpected but only charge if it gets eaten and bill later. I said would make up extra centerpiece and have it on stand by for the just in case. I plan to only have 12 tables. So I definitely would ask thr venue.

I planned for ten tables. But told my florist to make 12 centerpieces. I was thinking about the chair covers. I ordered 100. I think I should order ten extra just in case. It's ten ppl per table and it's 100 ppl including us. So it's already two extra chairs because FI and I have a sweetheart table. I'm praying some ppl don't show. I'm so nervous about it. Lol. If people come and have no chairs I would be so embarrassed. But then again, you didnt get an invite. Idk. I'm nervous. I just know extra ppl are going to show. FI and I just didn't want to get an extra table put in because we didn't want to pay if we didn't have to. I would actually rather them bill me and bring extra supplies just in case. Then if three extra people come, it would be one person alone at a table. Idk. Maybe I'm thinking to hard about it. But I'm nervous.

  • My venue sets up for the amount of people we tell them to so once all those seats are full if they have to bring out a extra table they charge by the seat onky if dinner is still being served. Im having buffet style so I asked the vendor if they can kust not fix extra food but they said it wasnt fair cause what if the people that sit at that table are actually ones that RSVP. Im just hoping if we have extra that they come AFTER dinner.

  • I was scared of this too, but it worked itself out.  Many  people who SWORE me up and down that they were coming, didn't show up. This was good because my husband ended up inviting ALOT of people by mouth that I never knew about!

Child dont worry about it! The likelihood is that you'll have more no shows than extras

  • just outta curiosity how would people who weren't sent an invitation know where to go?  by word of mouth?  by your website?  this happens? like, legit people actually do this?  i'm pearl clutching right now, that's unfathomable.

when you said they wouldn't have anywhere to sit I thought, okay well that solves that.  BUT what happens if, as somebody pointed out above, the uninvited guests show up first?  because you know raggedy comes early.

I mean do they really have someone there counting each person.??    <-- I changed your initial capitals so we won't fight.    yes luvie. head count is their bread n' butter so to speak, if your venue has a coordinator or maitre d, this is their primary job on that day.  i'm with J, find out what the policy is but long story short, your venue will be prepared to accommodate them and you'll be invoiced. I went to a wedding this past weekend, beautiful, she had more than enough reception tables, some only had seatings of 6 BUT for the ceremony they were like 10-20 chairs short, it was weird.   i'm rambling. shorter version, no shows/extras will turn out to be a wash.  now can we talk about how excited we are?!!! weeeeeeee!
