How Long for Photo Booth Rental

How long would be the appropriate amount of time to do our photo booth rental? We are having a four hour reception.  Should we do the rental for the entire time, or maybe just 2 or 3 hours?  Any thoughts from experience?  I'd love to save some money by limiting the time if possible. Thanks!!

3 hours would probably be fine.

The photo book staff will likely have some better estimates based upon your number of guests.
  • Remember they have to set up and take down. You don't want that during the reception. Their take down would end your reception prematurely.

I assume the OP's only reception entertainment will not be the photobooth. Music will be going on, guests will be chatting, dancing, and drinking.

Guests will leave when they want, anyways. The removal of the photobooth is not a symbolic end to a reception (the last time I checked...).

Usually, they set up in a hallway or back corner of the room. It's really a non-issue. If the OP hired professionals, they won't be disruptive.
  • We had our photobooth for 3 hours.  Our guests would have definitely kept using it longer, though.

Keep in mind, some venues have rules on "setting up" during an actual reception, at least mine does. It directly states in our contract that all vendors must be set up prior to reception onset. You might want to make sure yours has no clause like that.

Depending on where you want it within the reception hall, keep in mind how easy it will be to set up or take down if you aren't having it the whole time without it being disruptive to the flow
