Venue address on invitation, RSVP due date

Should the address of our ceremony/reception venue (both ceremony and reception are taking place at the same building) be included on our invitation? Our website includes very clear directions. We do not have a map insert in our invitation suite. Our suite does include an insert with the website address.

Also, our wedding is on September 7, and our venue needs a head count at least two weeks in advance. Do you think August 2 is a good "RSVP by" date? Or is it too early? I expect to have to follow up with quite a few people.

It will be just fine to put:

    XYZ Venue
    City, State

If it were me, I'd put August 1st. It's a more "memorable" date. Not that it matters, people will forget to RSVP no matter what!

  • When do you need a final headcount?  I'd put the RSVP date about a week and a half before that.

  • We had an insert with the address to our ceremony/reception that also had our website address on it. We have quite a few people that will probably not look at our site so we needed to have it on paper.
I'd go for 8/1 also, in fact I think that's what we're doing with a 9/13 wedding date but we both come from a long line of procrastinators.
  • On our invitations, we put

    XYZ Golf Club
    ABC Drive
    City, State

I don't think it is absolutely required that you put the address, but I think that it does make it more convenient for people.  Just make sure not to include the zip code, as that does not go on the invitation.

I would not have your RSVP date more than a month before your wedding.  Due to work and other conflicts, many people will not be able to commit earlier than that.  I would go with August 10.  This gives you two weeks to round up any non-responders before numbers are due to your venue.
