Re: songs to walk down to??!

• ditto pp. I knew that song before the movie came out and I am not hip at all so it must have been popular.

I on the other hand am walkin down to a movie theme, but I figure very few people will know it.

• I am walking down the aisle to "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. I guess technically it's a country song, but it's not too country. The second I heard that song I knew it was the one!! It just fit perfectly!

LoL --that song was in Twilight?! Then again I loathe the twilight movies because the acting is so horrible! Anyway- I don't know where you are located, but I hired a cellist and guitarist to perform the processional and recessional music. Their website is http://penguinweddingmusicny.com/ you can check out some of their samples. THey also have an amazing song list-maybe that will help you give you an idea. Me personally, I am walking down the aisle to "I can't help falling love" and my bridal party is walking down the aisle to "Across the Universe" by the Beatles.
• I walked to a violin version of Train's "Marry Me".

You can walk down to whatever you want - but it would be better to walk down the aisle to something appropriate, of course. :) I think this song is lovely and perfectly appropriate.

Our processional (for family, BMs and me) is "Big Red Machine" by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and Aaron Dessner of The National. It's a beautiful song in a major key and as usual, you can't tell what Justin Vernon's saying at all. If guests were to Shazaam the song during the ceremony, which is unlikely, and then Google the lyrics, they would see that the song is about death. But hearing the song, it just sounds lovely and it has a nice tempo. Plus, it will make me cry and because FI's already disappointed that I didn't cry when he proposed, I need to do WHATEVER I can to cry at our wedding or else he might refuse to sign the marriage license. (Kidding... I hope!)

So if it evokes the right emotions, I think it will be perfect!
• I honestly might walk to "Brown eyed girl." FI and I talked about it - kind of half joking, kind of not.....it would be an instrumental piece only - no voice. That's the only idea I've had.
• Thanks guys!! I found this guy on youtube with piano versions of so manysongs! check him out ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJr_FfdKug4

But I think it might be the twilight song song..I can see it haha (=
• Check out "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. It's beautiful. My friend walked down the aisle to it.

I agree with previous posters on the piano guys...I like the thousand years and one directions beautiful (sounds completly different than the pop song)
• I was thinking the same thing today. My choices are "A Thousand Years" as well, but it's also a toss up between that and "I Do (Cherish You)" by 98 Degrees (because I have a serious soft spot for 90's boy bands) lol

But twilight or not, A Thousand Years has really beautiful wedding-like lyrics

I ditto previous posters you will be fine.

I will probably be walking down the aisle to either a movie theme or tv show theme.

Once Upon A Time...Storybook Love (Princess Bride)

or

a flute cover to The theme to Game of Thrones

• I'm using the Piano Guys version of A Thousand Years. Its lovely.

• I'm thinking about using A Thousand Years too. I absolutely love the song. My other choice is possibly Edwin McCain's "I'll Be" ... it's a little older but I melt every time I hear it. LOL

[QUOTE]In Response to Re:songs to walk down to??!: I know it's super trendy to use this song right now, but I can never get down with using a lament about how horrible your life is to walk down the aisle. It's right up there with using breakup songs as first dances. Just my opinion.

I don't agree with you nor I interpret the song that way. To me the song is about how at the end, you will be with the "rainbow" aka your fiance and everything will be perfect. Then it interludes into "what a wonderful world"- nothing negative about that song in the slightest.

• Look up the instrumental or piano version of Wanted by Hunter Hayes...I'm going to be walking down the aisle to the piano version. There's just something about a song in all piano that really sets the mood. We're also having lots and lots of candles, so a piano is key :)
