Chit Chat

Sa-weet

This past weekend, FH finally put together his final song list for the CD favours that we're making, and last night, after numerous text messages about the progress of said CDs (he was quite proud and kept me updated every step of the way...why are men like this?), he came over with a burned disk for us to listen to. It sounds great, and the mix is nice! Plus, I'm SO happy that he's willing to take the initiative on a project! He thought we would share the burning of the disks, and I said "nope, you need to take this one off my plate please". And, he's willing to help me make the CD covers as well! :)

To boot, his Mom is willing to host the rehearsal dinner, and is aware that the host is in charge of paying. By God, maybe things will start looking up!

  • That's pretty awesome! It's nice when the FI takes the initiative in parts of the planning. My FI picked the venue which includes the ceremony site. The ceremony site only holds up to 150 people seated so that's our maximum. He uses it as a great incentive to keep our guest list under control!
  • I wouldn't bother with cd's as favors honestly.  Your choice in music could be very different than that of your guests.  And I don't think many people actually use cd's anymore.  My husband calls me a dinosaur b/c I still listen to them in the car.  lol.  I use my ipod when I'm at the gym, or just listen to music from the computer at home.
  • Jordan, that's great that your FH picked the venue; it's always nice when they not only want a say, but also help to make decisions. Plus, that's a great way to keep your guest list under control for sure.

MrsG, to be honest, I couldn't have cared less if we did favours in general, as to me, it's just 1 more expense. It was 100% FH's idea to do the CDs, and something that he very much wanted to do because one of his closest friends did that for their wedding a few years ago. This is also why I'm quite happy that he's doing all of the burning! I use my ipod all the time, and I don't know many people who still buy CDs. But, he was so excited about the idea that I couldn't say no. Now, if only I could've gotten him that excited about my original centerpiece idea: goldfish.

  • Did you ultimately decide against goldfish centerpieces?
