Outdoor Reception Decor HELP!!!!!!!!

Please please, I'm looking for some ideas of how to "soften" red brick walls and columns at the pavilion of my reception.  My theme is a shabby chic with the main color being blue.  My venue is a small town park.  I really don't like the brick but have to deal with it.  Any ideas on how to make it shabby chic rather inexpensively?  Thanks!!!!
It is all brick and concrete so hanging options are limited.

Brenda!

Personally, I would just wrap the columns in yards of ivory tulle. Do you have the budget to rent some outdoor wicker furniture? Maybe some ornamental trees or plants? Could you put shepherd's hooks in the grassy area and hang flowers or pomanders from them?
  • If your wedding is in the evening I'd recommend some twinkle lights for inside - they make little hooks that are sticky (versus hammering anything into walls) that you could get to hang them. Then they'd be an easy take down too. I'd put some tulle or other soft, flowly fabric either wrapping around the columns or just kind of cascading down them. I wouldn't focus too much on outside the pavilion but inside. When is your wedding? If it isn't until after this upcoming Christmas, stock up on lights when they're going on clearance. I think if you do something with fabric on the "windows" of the pavilion, that will soften the look from the outside and the inside. I think oriental trading has some sort of draping fabric that is fairly cheap.
