  I think the thing is you just can't USE it, but opening it and sending a Thank You is perfectly fine. If I were sending a gift I'd wanna know if they got it or not, you know?

  Well it's from FI grandma who is coming to the wedding but didnt want to haul a gift 700 miles and I am getting thank you cards made so I was just gonna wait and open it until after the wedding.

  192 invited
  69 will be there
  5 will be missing out
  

   118 haven't RSVP'D

  RSVP Deadline: May 3rd
