I can't even believe what's going on in Boston right now. Is anyone else from around the area?

One of the suspects was shot during a shootout and pronounced dead early this morning...apparently they are from Russia and are brothers. The 19 yr old one is still at large...they shut down all of Boston and the surrounding areas....

I was literally in town yesterday. We walked from one shopping area to another, Copley to Newbury Street. All the roads near the location of the bombings were blocked off. We stopped to say a prayer as we walked by:

These a-holes killed a security officer and another is in the hospital....both young men....it's just so sad and devastating....

I live 20/25 mins south of Boston...and I'm so scared. I can't imagine how those on lockdown are feeling.....

    I gasped when I listened to the news this morning.  I just keep wondering how much worse this is going to get!  It's horrible, every bit of it.  Things like this are all we hear about now, and it's just devastating.

    Prayers to everyone.  I know so many people who live in the Boston area, and can't imagine what they, and you OP, are going through being so close to it.  Especially with this lockdown business, I'd be scared too.  We're here for support!

    I was woken up this morning with calls/texts from friends & family out there. One of my BMs lives in Cambridge and can't go to work today. You live 20-25 min south of Boston? You're probably near where I went to school!

    I promise everyone around the country is saying prayers right now. I went to the Dodgers game the other night and wore my red sox hat--people walked up to me and asked about family/friends in the area. Stay safe & close to your loved ones out there!

    It's so awful I just can't fathom why people do these things. The quotes taken from their father scare me too. Calling his son an angel and saying that all hell will break loose if the police kill his son. I just hope no one else gets hurt :-( I don't know anyone in/from the area but it still shakes me to my core and I'm keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers.

    THANK GOD....second suspect in custody. On his way to the hospital now....imagine being the nurses and doctors that need to care for him?

    Watching the news was like watching a movie...it was so scary and intense.....

    I feel like I can breathe again....phew...
