Travel Agent Recommendations

My wedding is September 7th and I'm trying to figure out honeymoon plans. Does anyone have any recommendations for a travel agent?

That depends on how much you plan on spending for your honeymoon. Me and FH went with a formerly Michigan-based travel agency called Journeys of Excellence www.journeysofexcellence.com. Mike and his wife are the owner/operators and he has taken very good care of us in planning our trip to Hawaii after our September 21 wedding.

But we are really splurging on the trip. If you are looking to spend no more than a couple thousand dollars it may be tough to get an agent that specializes in affordable honeymoons. Since websites like expedia and travelocity came along travel agents have specialized in making money off the high-end luxury trips. So if you and your FH are planning to go all out then definitely check out Mike. There are other travel agencies in MI but we liked being able to have the owner's attention instead of just some random representative.

But in the past when I wanted a more affordable vacation I liked cheapcaribbean.com and it was perfect for what I wanted. It's all up to you.

  • You can do a great honeymoon at any price. We are using Cadillac Travel Group and they can work with any budget. We are doing a 10 night/ 11 day honeymoon at Secrets Maroma Beach in Mexico and it is going to be about $5,000. We upgraded to the preferred club as well. This includes airfare (non-stop) travel insurance and roundtrip transportation to/from the airport.
