Booked Our Venue Today!

FH and I put our money down and signed the contract! Our wedding date is officially Saturday, October 4, 2014! We're getting married on the patio of a beautiful restaurant right on a lake downtown and then moving inside for a buffet reception. It's gorgeous and sophisticated and FH and I are SO excited to take this step! It's almost like getting engaged again!

Anyone else have their wedding venues reserved?  I'd love to hear about where other October 2014 bees are getting married! Our coordiantor made it sound like she thinks we're a little crazy for booking so far out but we had our hearts set on our date and venue and we had the money so why not?

</div><div>Congrats on setting your date officially!! From one October 4th bride to another, you are NOT too early! When we visited our venue, there were only two dates left in October 2014, and we snatched one up. We chose a restored 200 year old barn for our reception venue.  There are two open lofts on either side of the main room, which will be fun for our younger guests to view the party from.  There are also 12 French chandeliers hanging from the rafters, and it's just a wonderful mixture of rustic and glam! I'll insert some pictures below for you to see. We haven't decided on a buffet or served dinner yet, but at least we know where it will be! We haven't chosen a ceremony location yet, but I found two 100+ year old churches in the same town, so I'm hoping to score one of those!

    Congrats!!!

And ditto, Des.  In our area everyone seems to know that October books very early, and no one reallly bats an eye if you want to book 1-3 years out.

Des, is that the barn on the lavender farm?  I'd love to see pictures next year after your wedding. .. that site looks amazing!

Our reception is being held in a restored 1900's mansion:

</div><div>Your venue is absolutely gorgeous!! I can see a lot of beautiful photos taken there, especially on those stairs!  Our venue is actually in Mt.Pleasant, right in the middle of a town.  The area used to be filled with milk farms a long time ago, and the city quickly took over.  It's a little strange to see this barn in the middle of town, but I think it's kind of wonderful too! No worries, I'll take lots of pictures! ;)

Congrats on booking! Me and the FI booked at Lavender and Old Lace for the 24th, they didn't bat an eye at how early we booked.
