This board is really quiet

Is this board always this quiet?

Re: This board is really quiet

  • I'm really just now starting to pay attention to the boards (wedding is still 19 months out) but Oregon does seem to be a bit quieter than most...
  • It's too rainy! :P You really would imagine more people would be posting here though!

    When is your wedding?
  • I'm mostly a lurker with a few posts. I try to answer questions if I have an answer though.
I have a little under 6 months to go, I'll wake up, think something like, "I need to figure out tablecloth ideas", go to work and forget about it and start again the next morning.
Anyone here doing mostly DIY? Tiny budget? Outdoor wedding? Second marriage?
  • it is really quiet... so lets start talking and make all of our weddings better. Ours is the summer of 2015 but I am planning away!
  • Speaking of. Do ya'll have any suggestions for outdoor wedding venues in Central Oregon?
  • Hey there! It would be awesome if we could boost this board! I recently started posting, but haven't really needed Oregon specific advice or I haven't asked because this board is so quiet! I will be getting married in Aug, 2014!

Our isn't until march 23 2014. What kind of centerpieces are you having? And how many tables?

I hear you. Our ceremony is next year but I'm just about done with everything but the guest list. That is if I don't change my mind lol
  • I am so impressed with how much you've gotten done! Should we start a new post? I feel like I hijacked this one.
I have 28 guest tables plus 14 tables for food, dj, cake, desserts, gifts etc.. They are picnic tables so they are all 7x3 and seat 4-6. I am doing paper flowers in painted jars and tealight candles (also in jars). I have huge bolts of white, taupe and green fabric but don't know how many yards on each bolt so I haven't figured out clothes yet and I keep putting off cutting them.
Do you have pictures of your centerpieces?
  • I have pictures but don't know how to post them. We are having 10 tables. Cake table, and one extremely long food table. I got efffel tower vases to use 17 of them but then my venue had these awesome centerpieces so went that way instead. If anyone is close to me in the Portland area your more than welcome to use the efffel vases I bought. If it would help out. What venue are you all using. I literally fell in love with ours when I first seen it. It's funny really because its nothing like I was looking for but it is so beautiful.

<div>We are doing a very tiny budget. Trying to bring the whole thing together under $8,000. We'll see if that happens, though. For the most part it's a DIY wedding, but it's also going to be super simple, so there won't be a whole lot to 'D' in the 'DIY,' lol! </div><div>No outdoor wedding for this bride! I don't trust Oregon weather to save my life. I love where I'm from, but with my luck, and early August wedding would get rained out, with sunny days on either side! Our's will be indoors in October. And because I planned that, I bet we'll have sunny and 65 the day of! Go figure.</div>

<div>Probably never, LOL! We are one of those "everything needs to be perfect" couples in an imperfect world, and we are both very busy. I've helped out in a few weddings and I thought heck, might as well throw in my 2 cents while I'm checking this site for my ever changing ideas.</div>
  • Just started checking out boards and there wasn't much to see here! But still i'm getting married Sept. 6th of this year!! I haven't figured it all out yet except the venue which is OK not great. The inhouse designer was a wreck though so I have to figure out my own decor. It's all a bit scary.
