Cheap but fun dates

Random question:
What is your favorite cheap date? Cheap being 20 or less.
Mine is watching the sunset and dancing to my iPod on the back porch then going inside to watch movies.

Re: Cheap but fun dates

  • A picnic, hiking, making a nice dinner and dessert together

Everything the light touches is my kingdom.
  • Coffee and dessert at one of our favorite coffee shops. We like to go to just sit and talk for a couple hours if they're not too busy.

  • Making a tasty home-cooked meal, followed by a nice walk in gorgeous weather, and finished up with snuggle time and a reading date.

Being near D.C. and having access to the zoo (free) and all kinds of museums and gardens and stuff (mostly free or very cheap) is awesome too - just got to pay for the Metro. But if you eat lunch at any of those kiosks it goes over the $20 limit.

[QUOTE]Miniature golf. Or the local arcade that is a 5 dollar entry fee for unlimited play. ETA: when the weather is nice, we also like to find random places to go, um, parking. Did I mention we're both teenagers at heart?

  • Going to Central Park and spending the day by the lake, cuddling and spending the night watching movies, and going to the beach and just relaxing.
  • I love grabbing coffee and walking alot the waterfront in Hoboken or Downtown Jersey City.  On the rare occasion we will travel into NYC and just walk around the city.

  • I wish there was mini golf in my city. My FH would do that all the time. For our cheap dates, we normally take walks to the nature reserve or have a chat over coffees at a local cafe. I'd love to do picnics, but he hates eating outside :(
  • I have a membership to the science musesum in Boston, so sometimes we go there (just have to pay for parking).  If it's nice out, we like to go walking.  This weekend we went for a drive just because.
  • I love grabbing Jimmy John's and going for a hike with FI and our dog. Also, farmers markets and movies in the park (Forest Park does them once a month in the summer).
  • If we feel like going out, we might go hiking/walking/biking, go to the driving range, play mini golf, bowling, or our favorite, disc golf.  Our college had a full course that we can play for free, even now, it's fantastic.

If we feel like staying in, we love to play games.  Board games, card games, we love 'em.  We're big geeks and love Magic: The Gathering, so that's usually our first go-to if we have some time.  We'll watch a movie together if we can actually agree on one.  Often times we'll just sit down and watch some Star Trek!

Lots of ways to have fun on the cheap!  I love it!
