Fashion question

It's slowly warming up here for spring and I wanted to wear a new dress that I had bought. But, it was still slightly chilly so I put on a pair of black Capri length leggings underneath. I thought it looked ok, but according to my husband it did not... And he never tells me he doesn't like my clothes unless he reAlly means it.

I remember last year doing this a few times but maybe the trend is over? He kept telling me it looked like blossom ( tv show from the 90's) I'm also six months shy from 30 so maybe I am too old to wear such a thing

Any comments/advice is appreciated

Re: Fashion question

  • I agree with Stage. I have never been a huge fan of that look though, so it may also be my personal bias speaking. I much prefer leggings tucked into boots or if you're going to wear dress shoes, go with opaque tights instead.

  • I do that in the winter definitely. I guess now that its warming up I just need to wear the dress without anything under it. I'm tall though so sometimes it's really hard for me to find a long enough short dress lol
  • Thank you for your comments. I hate when my husband is right about fashion! LOL
  • I agree the Capri length leggings look got played out a while ago. I'd go with opaque tights as someone suggested above. Also agree with stage that full length leggings and boots is a good look also, but with a dress... Meh not so much. I like the leggings look paired with an oversized sweater and belt or something, but that's very fall. In your case I'd say opaque tights or wait a few days for the weather to warm up. I'd have to see the dress though I think.. Just my opinions

Depends on the dress. I can't imagine it being hideous though.

  • Now that it's warming up, I've been wearing dresses with tights and flats rather than leggings and boots. It's not quite warm enough here to go bare-legged (for me, at least).
