Wording help for registry and website

Hi All,

I wanted to have giftregistry360.com and my wedding website address printed on one card. What are your suggestions for wording? The wording on my invites were formal....

Re: Wording help for registry and website

  • You don't put registry information with your invitations at all. It comes across as gift grabby.

You can certainly put your website URL on an insert, maybe an "Additional information" insert. Something like, "For more information, visit our webiste: _____." On the website itself, you can post a link to your registry.

  • So do people not use the inserts provided by stores for example from a Macy's that says:
    We are registered here?

Some people DO, but nobody SHOULD..
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

People do use these but they are against etiquette. Unfortunately, all these stores care about is making money, not making sure you are polite. Ditto Summer's wording for the card.
  • The stores you register with give you those cards because they are a business and want your guests to shop at THEIR store for wedding gifts. They don't make money off of you registering there alone because registering is free. They make money when guests choose to shop there. So of course they want to give you something to put in your invitations.

But like the other ladies agreed, this is tacky to do so. Wedding guests will most likely ask where you are registered, find it on your website, or just Google your names and find the registry on their own.

  • The cards that come from the stores that you have registered with are normally used for shower invites, and are included in that invitation by the person who is hosting the shower. Those cards should not be included with your wedding invitations.  If you wanted to notify guests of your registries, you could put that information on your website, if you have one.

The inserts don't go in your invitations, but if you are asked about your registry by someone receiving your invitation, you can then give them one of the inserts.
