knot jackie or jennifer et al

Someone named "icesculputures4u" needs the banhammer. She has commented on two posts on this board selling her stuff. Check out the "would you be hung up on...." post.

We need an active mod for this board.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Im am so sorry you feel that way! I did get a phone call that did not have a return number today and the call was dropped. If someone cannot find something that I have is it wrong to allow them to contact me? WOW i am not posting a website or putting an ad on the site, simply trying to help. My sister got married in Jan having a large wedding and know how hard it can be for brides. My reply to post are well within the the guidelines of the site. Please repond or call me and let me know why you are so upset.

  • Gee I wonder what your part on this is cmgilpin? Really almost 4900 posts in a year? I think it is you that needs to be banned.
  • FYI If I was a spammer I would reply to every post not just certain ones in which I could help.
  • What the what? What is going on on TK today? This is nuts.

WTF? Because she's an active member of this community? Better ban me, too, then. I've only been here since November and am racking up the posts pretty fast. It's pretty easy when you get involved in the community. You just happen to have all these items in all kinds of colors, and your username is ice sculptures for you, but you're not a vendor?

  • Please let me help you to understand. I am a vendor. I was clear and did not hide that with my replies. According to the site guidelines I cannot post ads to the site. I did not post ads or use my website to promote business. I responded to post to people that I could help. I did not spam or reply to every post.

Perhaps I should look at the posts and reply "So sad for you I have what you want, need, and can't find. Too bad for you because a few people question my intentions." Lets get to the point what exactly is the problem?

LETS FACE FACTS iF I wanted to be sly that would be very easy.

  • Perhaps you can point out to me in the TOS where it states that I cannot reply, as I did read them.

If you click on the faq at the top of this board, it will provide you with a link to the terms of service for the community forums. Those terms of service clearly state that solicitation of any kind is NOT allowed on these boards. You are not allowed to use these boards to sell your stuff or promote your business in any way.

You aren't "spamming" you are vending. Which is clearly against the rules. I'm not trying to sell anything or promote my business. I can have 100k posts, and there would be no reason to ban me, because I'm not breaking any rules.

K. Here ya go.

3. No Soliciting.

There are some incredibly talented Knotties in our community with great ideas, but our boards are here for members to share ideas and hold discussions without feeling like they are being bombarded by promotions and solicitations. This applies to all sorts of businesses - photographers, graphic designers, Etsy shops, etc.

What does that mean exactly? No posts about your business, at all.

If a member asks for a business recommendation, you cannot respond with yours.
In your signature, you cannot mention your business whatsoever, or link to it (ebay, etsy, etc.)

You can, however, link to your personal blog.

If you are unsure about what's allowed (this can be confusing), just follow one general rule: other members should not be able to guess that you are a vendor of any sort.

  • Thank you, KI!

  • I can truthfully say that I have never seen that statement. I had never been on the blog portion on the site until yesterday which had a term of service. The TOS I looked at yesterday did not have that verbage included. Perhaps it is in the TOS when you become a member. That was some time ago when I sought to place an ad. Sadly, I phoned three times and never had a call back.

Thank you for the information in a respectful way. No one likes to be beat up and called names when they feel they are helping someone. Remember Vendors are people too. I am sorry if I offended anyone.
