Snarky Brides

I love short weeks!

Good morning all!

Only 2 more work days to get through! I really need this long weekend! Mostly to clean my house for Sunday Easter dinner and study for my exam on Monday.

I was able to book a train ticket for tomorrow night, so i don't have to drive to go get him. It turns out we wouldn't have been able to gets hotel room that night anyways, as every single hotel in town is booked for a hockey tournament.

  • Yay! Glad that worked out! I need to clean on Saturday, too.

  • Short week? No fair, I have to work all week! But we are eating two nice dinners this weekend because Saturday is H's mom's birthday and on Sunday we're having dinner with my family for Easter.

This weekend will also mark our one year anniversary of owning our home! We're having my parents over before dinner to toast with some champagne. That also means I'll be cleaning the house on Saturday as well. The weather is supposed to be pretty nice I think, so that will help soften the blow.

  • Isn't Good Friday a statuatory holiday in the US? All stores have to be closed up here for both Friday and Sunday. Monday is an optional day, only schools/banks/government offices are closed.

I know it's religious holiday, but I don't believe the banks are closed or anything like that - and we don't necessarily close if it's a bank holiday. At my job we only get New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and Christmas off.

ETA: Plus only 2 weeks vacation no matter how many years you've worked at the company and 3 sick/personal days... :( Though we often close the last week of December, but it's not a given and I always save a few days for Christmas break just incase we don't.

  • No banks are not closed :(.  Otherwise I'd be much happier about this week.

  • haha!  I wish I could.  The one time I went to Toronto, I loved the people there.  And we had a Canadian couple at the resort with us when we were on our honeymoon.  They were a riot, and we palled around with them the entire time.

Yeah I have a normal day Friday as well. I actually would rather work since I am OOT and I haven't worked in so long.

  • I'd love to visit Canada but not to move there. As much crap as NJ gets, I like living here. I'd love to go to Quebec sometime along with other Canadian cities.

    <div>No. I didn't get Good Friday off until I moved to NC. I'm not complaining, though <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div>

  • I think we Canadian's got it pretty good day off wise. Unless you're in Quebec. My FI is from there and she never had days off when I did.
