First rejection :(

We've been receiving RSVP cards in the mail now for about 2 and a half weeks.  I get really excited to check them mail when I get home and am disappointed when there aren't any new cards in there.  But today, something new.  3 cards came and we received our first 'declines with regret'.  I know it's silly, but a little part of me was like 'aw, why don't they want to come to our wedding?'...  anyone else get that feeling?

    I got that yesterday! It was one of my dad's friends, so not anyone I have a relationship with, but part of me was still like, "what the hell?! why don't you like me??" 

    After about 10 minutes, I started realizing that 2 fewer guests meant I could splurge on the veil I wanted instead of a cheapy one.

    It'll be okay! You don't know why they declined, so I wouldn't take it to heart. At least they know that you thought of them and invited them. :) But then again, I'm a people pleaser. :p

    No, I assume they are busy people and wish they could make it, but have things happening.  I'm sad they can't come, but I don't feel slighted. 

    On another note...you are receiving RSVP's already and your wedding is almost 3 months out still?

    I know that they would come if they could... that's why I acknowledge that it was silly to feel that way.  Fruitsnack you totally nailed it!  Not a big deal, just a conversation starter :)

    And yes, Shannon, our wedding is July 6th, and we sent the invitations our the last week of March - eager beavers returning their cards so quickly!

    We got our first decline today also...my fiances younger brother and wife!
    They are "ticked" we didn't invite their 2 adult children. 
    These 2 children have no relationship with either my fiance or me.  If I passed them in the street I wouldn't know them.  We have a 32 people wedding.  Just small and intimate...
    I was upset earlier...just trying not to take it personally...hard to! :-(
