HELP

Due to health issues with my FH, we are having to push our wedding back from July of this year, to...its up to us. Our colors are cool blues and cool greens. The BMs dresses are long and chiffon. I have a flowy ballgown. My FH has a light grey suit.Soo what are my options? Can we still do it this year, if so...when?  Or am I screwed until next year??

Re: HELP

  • You can have your wedding whenever works for you both. I hope your FI's health improves soon.

I'm not sure why you are asking internet strangers when you can have your wedding. If it has something to do with your colors, they don't matter or have to match a season. They are just colors.

You can do it whenever. I would stay away from the dead of winter with chiffon dresses, but there are plenty of other months to choose from.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

</div><div>I guess I'm looking for a little bit of inspiration from fellow brides. ideas as to what seasons would look nice with these colors-decor, so we can look forward to a differnet season as oppose to feeling like we a losing out on our first choice. In other words looking for inspiration to be optimistic. They may just be colors, but the pictures aren't just pictures, and there will be a thousand of them.

  • I guess I feel that you picked those colors for a reason, presumably because the both of you really liked them. They will look perfectly fine whatever the season is and you will like them in your pictures no matter what. Promise.

FWIW, we picked our colors (which were our favorite colors) before we even had a set date. Our colors would have been brown and light blue no matter when we got married.

  • In my opinion, the only time colors would be affected by the season is if you were doing a wedding at Christmas and your colors were red, white, and blue or something like that, you know? It would still be fine, but I would think it looked a little odd.  The colors you chose are fine for any season.

I would find it odd if you were having blue, white and silver with snowflakes everywhere for a middle-of-summer wedding, but other than that I don't think I'd really notice if your colors "went" with the season. Blues and greens are a go for any season, really anyways.
  • Colors shouldn't drive your wedding like a bank robber in a getaway vehicle.  My colors were chosen well before my date.  I loved them and wanted them in my photos.  No matter what season.

    Anniversary

  • We picked our colors after we picked our date... But I made it clear to my FH that I do not want to have a wedding where you can look at the pictures and immediately know what season it was. Therefore, we're not doing orange and reds and browns and pumpkins. Absolutely no pumpkins will be at my October wedding.

Blues and greens "go with" absolutely every thing. Although, like a PP, since your BM dresses are chiffon I would probably try and stick to a warmer month wedding date - especially if you want to have it outdoors.
  • I saw any season where weather is around 70-75 is fine (because of the chiffon, flowyness)  I am having gray bridesmaid dresses in June.  ;) Do what you like.

June 1, 2013 - finally making it official!

  • I think what I hear you say is that you want us to reassure you that what you had first planned will be ok transformed by your new plans.  It will be ok, because you two love each other and the wedding will 'say' that.  No matter what sensory choices (scents, colors, sounds, tastes, textures, etc.) you use to convey that love.

Instead of focusing on how to re-work a previous plan, maybe just find the date and time that works, and accept and embrace the colors and other choices within this new paradigm?

Good luck!  Hope your fiance feels better!
