3 questions about David's Bridal BM dresses

Does anyone have recent experience with delivery time for BM dresses at David's Bridal? My MOB was planning to order 3-3.5 months before my wedding, since she has been losing weight. Our only experience with them was one time five years ago, when delivery only took a month.
The dress we decided on is now specified as on sale on-line. On-line is out of stock for some colors/sizes. Does this indicate the dress is in the process of being discontinued? While there are many similar styles, we chose this dress because it looked best on her. I wouldn't want her to have to choose a less-flattering alternate.
Are dye lot differences a real problem?  I have one MOB, one BM, and one FG, who might be wearing a colored junior BM dress instead of a white flower girl dress. Do they really need to place their orders at the same time at the same store?
TIA!

My BMs ordered online and got their dresses in less than a month. She'd have plenty of time with her current plan.

It is possible, but that isn't a solid indicator. One of my BMs got hers on sale last year, but they still carry it. I'd live chat someone and ask.

Nope, dye lots aren't a problem at all anymore. They can place there orders at separate times/stores/planets, and they'd come out the same.

My MOH got her dress in 3 weeks...and I got my wedding gown 6 days after ordering.  They told me it'd take 3 1/2 months.
  • I think we ordered the BM dresses in mid-February and were told they'd be ready by the end of May (~3 months).  The dresses were ready in closer to 3 weeks.
  • Our dresses came in 2-3 weeks!  If its on clearance with limited availability it may indicate they are going to discontinue it--only way to know is ask the store.  May be betterto order a bigger size now and then get the alterations.  I would not chance it unless they can guarantee the dress will be around in a few months.  And people always need to remember that when they lose weight it does not always mean inches in the waist. Better safe than sorry!

  • My dress for my best friend's wedding came in one month. My dress for my sister's wedding took about a month and a half.
  • Most of my bridesmaids ordered them in-store after trying them on, all at different times. They said to plan on 8 weeks, they all came in 4.  One bridesmaid ordered online, the dress arrived in a week.  I haven't seen them all together yet, but I'm not worried about the dye issue.  Any differences won't be noticeable.

I would ask if they're being discontinued.  It's hard to tell sometimes.  Hopefully you'll be fine though.  Good luck!
  • Just ordered a BM dress from David's this weekend.  I was told that it would arrive in mid-June.  It's been my experience that they have a pretty fast order time.  As for the online issue, some styles are discontinued entirely and some may just be sold in-store only.  I'd suggest checking with her local store.
  • Your time frame is fine. The dressses we ordered usually came in under a month. We were able to get 3 of the dresses of e-bay and the colors were still all the same as the ones that were ordered in the store. I would tell her don't push it too close to wedding date though because if she needs alterations, depending on the style of the dress & what kind of alterations she needs done, that could take 1-2 weeks (or more depending on where you go) to get done.

For ordering the dresses, have the girls go whenever it fits their schedule & to whatever location will work best for them. They don't have to be all at the same time or same store.
  • My bridesmaids went last Saturday April 20 and were told when they ordered that the dresses would arrive July 15 and my wedding is Aug 3rd.. Cutting it close, I had no idea it was that long
