Bridal Brain

I haz it.

I'm at this point in the planning process where the major stuff is booked, which is good, but now we're working on all the little details, which I thought was going to be fun. Instead it's a little overwhelming. I'm trying to keep track of RSVPs (which are sent to my mom's house, but then I have the "Master List"), figure out table settings, filling the favors, picking table linens, blah blah blah blah blah. I feel like I'm juggling 17 chainsaws while balancing a book on my head. Last week? I forgot my own address.

Either I've got serious bridal brain or, according to WebMD, I'm pregnant and I have brain cancer.

Re: Bridal Brain

  • I've locked the keys to the work truck inside the truck twice in the last 2 weeks and had to get rescued by my boss. I don't even have a good excuse, I'm over 4 months out.

  • Tackle one thing at a time. I left myself with a million things to do this weekend and I am not looking forward to it.

Write out a list of what you have to wait. What can wait 'til the week before? What days are you free? Assign one (or two) tasks to each free day you have. If you make a list and write in dates for it to be accomplished by, it might make it a little easier.

  • WebMD never lies. Trust it for this one. Mines not bridal brain, but when I called the dentist lady week, I completely forgot my phone number. And I went to bed the other night and forgot to close the garage door.
  • We warned you it was the little things that were the worst. Smile
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Oh goddddd I'm not looking forward to that. And I'm totally a details person, so I'm going to be flipping out. I already feel bad for my day of coordinator. She is going to have THE LONGEST list of things to do on the day of, because at some point I'll decide that something completely useless is the most important detail of the wedding - several times over.

Like toiletry baskets for the bathrooms. Eff. I need to add that to my "buy this" list.

If it makes you feel better, I forgot my address last week and FI had to correct me, lol.  We were getting tux's fitted, so when the guy setting up our group account asked for my address I said what I thought was our address and FI was like, um... correction.  So it happens :)

  • EEEEEK.

Yesterday was the 4 month mark. I think I'm just going to do the ostrich in the sand move when I get overwhelmed.

It's sure nice and stressfree here on Denial Isle! :)

<div>Quiet, you. Do your "I told you so" dance elsewhere before I start making it hail. Which by the way, is when you throw quarters at strippers because there's not a Coinstar in your area and you're out of dollar bills. :D</div><div>

  • I don't know if it's bridal brain or not...but I apparently forgot to lock the back door of our office last Friday (which is very unlike me)  I woke up with 7 missed calls from my boss.  Apparently the fedex guy found our back door, opened it, and the alarm went off.  My boss said since I didn't answer my cell (my phone was on silent) she thought I had been taken hostage and called the police...though I don't know who would take someone hostage at a dental office at 9am on a Monday morning....?

  • I COMPLETELY understand.  Back when I was only planning the BIG stuff, I was so bored.  I couldn't wait to work on all the "little" things.  Then BAM!, little things everywhere, they follow me.  They all want my attention at once, and I can only take care of one at a time.  Reminds me of being in a room full of cats and you've just opened the can of food, and they all get in your face, wanting to be fed first.  Then you're like "one at a time, ONE AT A TIME!".  There must be a GIF for this.  ...Yep, that's where my brain went.  I must have bridal brain too.  Plus it's Friday.  2 strikes, haha
