I need suggestions!!! Bridal party gifts

Hi!! I want to make my own bridesmaid survival kits for my bridesmaids but cant make them as big as i wanted them. The original items i had were :

Hand Sanitizer (which i got)
Tissue (which i got)
Clear nail polish
nail files
Wisp
Deodorant
Tampon/pad
mints
Lip gloss
Bobby pins
Band-aids
pain killers
Lotion
Floss
Water
Wet ones
Q-tips
Safety pins
Spot removal wipes

I want to try to narrow this list to 5 or 10 items of NECESSARRY items!!

Re: I need suggestions!!! Bridal party gifts

  • Bridesmaid survival kits are a huge waste of money.  Just throw all of this into a ziplock bag and bring it with you.  If anyone actually needs any of this, they can just take it out of the bag.

  • If I receive a tampon as a gift (or any of these things, really), I would be pretty disappointed. :(

If you provide your girls with "survival kits", they're items to be used for the wedding. Please supplement them with gifts that have nothing to do with your wedding - gift cards, maybe?
  • That is a good list of things to have on hand. Maybe you could just do one Emergency Kit, with those things in it, and put it in a place that everyone can access it. Since you wouldn't be buying multiples of everything, you could afford to be more comprehensive and include a wider variety of items.

For their gifts, they would probably enjoy something a little more personal and festive. The gifts don't have to match, you can get them anything non-wedding-related you think they would enjoy. My MOH got kitschy salt and pepper shakers, BM got a stationary set, and the other two got books specific to their tastes. I also gave them all floofy socks, scented lotion, and made them personalized hangers (with their names, putting bridesmaid on things tends to immediately disqualify it from future use.)

  • Dislike. Would you want tissues and bobby pins for a present?
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Ditto PPs. These things are not a gift. Would you seriously want to open up tampons, band aids, and hand sanitizer on your birthday?

Bring all these things in a big bag and let the girls pick out what they need to use. Shop for their BM gifts as if it was their birthday--buy them things they will actually like and use in daily life, not at your wedding.

  • OP think of it this way.  Christmas morning arrives and you are excited to open your presents.  You open a box and inside is all that crap you listed.  How would you feel?  Would you be excited for that nail file and tampon?  Probably not.

Just because you give your bridal party gifts does not mean that they have to relate to your wedding.  In fact the best gifts have nothing to do with the wedding.  Use your money towards gifts that represent each girl individually.  Shop like it was that persons birthday.

  • Huge dislike, everything you have listed I have plenty of either in my purse or at home. I dont need extras. And if there is "a nail file emergency" someone can run to Walgreens. I dont think all 5 Bms need nail files, floss, tampons etc.

Dont give your BMs any of this. Give them something you would give them for their birthday.

  • I say, use the stuff listed and build yourself an emergency kit. Make it available to the bridesmaids and buy them real gifts.

Something thought out and personalized for them. I got each of mine  Coach Wristlet, and then filled it with their favorite stuff - GC to nail salon/ restaurant, OPI Nail Polish (in their favorite color), and a thank you card.
