Wedding Recap

So maybe a few things went wrong at my wedding. It rained that morning and the skys looked like they would open up at any minute. My mother's crystal candle stick holders went missing, as did the bubbles and basket for them. My mom was pushy and wouldn't help me into my dress until she was good and ready to. The cake was not what I said I wanted, top wasn't placed on columns like I wanted. And they didn't do the filling right. My shoes were killing me by the time we were announced into the reception.

But you know what...it didn't rain during my ceremony. OR reception. It stayed gray, but the sun tried to come out. They found my mother's candlestick holders, and the bubbles and basket. Mom was put in her place by my SIL and BMs, AND the owner of the place. She did help me into my dress. My godmother was there to help, which meant the world to me. The cake was delicious, as was the dinner. And I took my shoes off right after our first dance as husband and wife.

I will always remember my husband, and how much he was hyperventalting when I was walking towards him, and him squeezing my hand when my dad placed it in his. Gazing at him as we said our vows, the words we wrote that came from our hearts. Dancing with my father, and him acting silly to make me smile. Dancing with my mom. The hora, and the groomsmen throwing my husband out of the chair (he landed on his feet).

I have so many wonderful memories of my wedding day. And it doesn't matter that the cake wasn't right or that the skys were gray. What matters is I married the love of my life, my soul mate, my best friend. And the only reason I have time to write this, on my honeymoon, is because my loving husband is playing video games. After a long day of exploring St. Augustine, I think we both deserve a little break, lol.

I hope everyone waiting to get married has a wonderful day. Don't worry about the little things. Enjoy every single moment, because it really does go by fast. And always have a snack and water nearby. Seriously, it helps.

We don't have any official wedding pictures back but here is one my aunt took.
