Rehearsal Dinner at The Oasis?

So I'm having my wedding at a private residence in Lake Travis, that will allow a view into the Lake behind the tree we will be getting married under. My boss has been so generous to offer her mansion for my wedding venue! I'm super stoked!

Our wedding budget is tight, and one of the few things that I would like to have complete planning control over is the rehearsal dinner and where that will take place. I am thinking The Oasis, as it offer a beautiful view with an unparallel atmosphere for all of our out of town guests who will be attending the rehearsal. It should make a great treat, introducing them to Austin. =)

Anyone have experience with them as far as a wedding or rehearsal dinner go? I want it to feel intimate and private while allowing in some fun, but not too crazy night life for the older guests. Laughing

Re: Rehearsal Dinner at The Oasis?

  •  I am considering The Oasis for our rehearsal as well!

I don't have any wedding related experiences here, but I did attend my fiance's work Christmas party in Decemeber and there were about 70 of us. We were in the Sunset Villa room and we had access to our own private deck with additonal seating. The staff was great and the event felt both private and intimate since we were able to close the doors. The only thing that keeps me from wanting to book them is that the food wasn't so great. We had a fajita buffet and I couldn't eat half of my food. DF didn't eat much either and he said it was bad the last time he was there too. I am willing to give them another shot though since the views are so amazing!

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at the Oasis for two reasons.  1) His mother wanted it to be at a restaurant over looking the lake, and 2) we got engaged at The Oasis.  We had Italian type foods.  Veggies, salad, and two different pastas.  It was good and everyone really enjoyed it.  If I had been the one picking it, I probably would have gone with a different place simply because our guests were staying in North Austin and it was quite the drive out there and back for everyone.  It turned out wonderfully for us, though, and I am very happy

There is also Soleil right next door to the Oasis that has different menus.  We looked at both and his mother decided to stick to The Oasis, but I thought Soleil looked as good, if not better.

    Good luck!
