Budget-friendliest resort in Fort Lauderdale or Miami Beach?

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie Knottie! Live in North NJ and planning a wedding next year in SoFla -- open to anywhere between Delray Beach and SoBe. I'm hoping to find a resort where we can do the ceremony and reception and all of our out-of-town guests can stay and play. But groom and I are paying for this ourselves, and the goal is for the grand total to be no more than $15-$20K MAX. Have gotten quotes already from a couple of places that were just astronomical. Any tips on spots that fit this description/budget would be very much appreciated. TIA! xx Laughing

  • You should check out the Hollywod Marriot. The hotel doesn't like much from the outside but it's actually has a very nice ballroom and you can get married right on the beach outside.

if you don't mind the intra coastal our second choice was Hollywood Beach Crowne Plaza!
  • Not sure if you tried the Royal Palm Miami Beach - ask for Natalie - tell her Diane referred you. Go onto GreatResortWeddings.com - they also have a whole bunch of locations on the beach from Delray to Key Largo that might help. One advise I would give out is once you really like the venue call the Dir of Catering and ask them to work with your budget - most of them will. You might have to knock off 1 hour bar or couple of appetizers or maybe choose a lower cut of meat or switch to Chicken. Tell them what's most important to you and your fiance.
