Gift List

I was wondering if anyone knew of an app or something that you can use to track shower/wedding gifts. I would love an app that I can just type the gift, who got it for me, and mark when I have sent the thank you note so I can stay organized. Does anyone know of anything like this?

Re: Gift List

  • I would just use a notebook. It sounds Like it would take longer to input all that information than it would to write thank you notes.

I'm so  old school I just used a yellow legal pad.  I mean, is there really any reason to have the list with at all times?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Excel spreadsheet?

  • Google docs. I sent my bridesmaids the guest list with addresses via google docs. I added a column for gifts (so one BM could take notes during shower), then I added a column for thank you cards, so I knew when I sent the thank you card and what was originally purchased.
We have a separate list for our wedding, as well.
  • I used google docs as well - the gifts went to my parents' house, so my mom marked gifts as they arrived, and i marked off the thank you note column when thank yous were sent

This. ALL my wedding-related lists were done with good old fashioned paper and pencil. No muss, no fuss, no glitches, and no confusion on how to do it.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
