Frungillo Caterers/Oakside Mansion

Hi!

has anyone worked with Frungillo Caterers and/or had or been to a wedding at Oakside Mansion and what your experience was? I am most likely going to be having my wedding there and was just curious on people's experience with both the venue and the caterer?

Thanks!

  • I did not choose them, but I did call to talk to them since I thought it was a cool space.

I remember getting the impression that it was going to be very expensive - if I remember correctly, the price does not include open bar, and you have to purchase your own alcohol? Or pay by the drink? But the per person price was already over $100, without tax and tip?  They do not have air conditioning, and the tent is outside. I thought that might be uncomfortable for guests.

But, I really liked the style of the venue and the tented option is pretty neat.

I could be mistaken, but I just remember getting the impression that I could get just as good if not better food and drinks for a (much?) cheaper price. There wasn't anything totally "wow" about the space that would justify me paying that much more.

But, do your own research and comparisons.

  • Ditto everything Sew said. It's a beautiful property, the food is great, but it also is right next to the parkway. I went to a wedding there a few years ago, and it was a serious contender at the beginning of my search. The Inn at Millrace Pond is also catered by Frungillos. If you're not having your reception in the tent, the mansion is a bit choppy for a reception. The wedding I went to was a cocktail reception. FI, 2 friends, and I ended up sitting at a small table on the far side of the mansion porch away from the other guests. We didn't mind the seclusion since we didn't know many people (and were next to the mashed potato bar), but it was a bit odd. However, I've only heard great things from others about their overall experience with Frungillos.

  • I just went to a wedding at the Oakeside Mansion and thought it was nice. the Mansion cocktail hour was a little crammed I thought but food was good for both cocktail hour and dinner. The bride and groom did like 10 stationary, 10 pass arounds. A salad when you entered the tent and then a choice between chicken and meat for dinner and then had cupcakes and pastries for dessert. It was open bar. I called there to have our wedding but we had too many guests and they don't use the tent in february.
