Return Address

I am looking into purchasing a stamp for the return address for save the dates, invitations, etc. My fianc and I live together in Texas and my parents live in North Carolina. We are getting married in Texas so I want to receive the response cards but am struggling with the name we use for the return address. Do we not use a last name and just go with the address only? Use the first letter if his last name and the address? Thanks for the help!

We got a cute one with just our first names and our address from a seller on Etsy. We still use it today for mail

This. I know this goes against tradition, but being in the same situation, my Mom mentioned that it is in fact still HIS last name, so just using NEWLASTNAME instead of Lisa NEWLASTNAME isn't necessarily wrong. Maybe just HE'S planning the wedding and sending out the invites (riiiiight...)!?! Again, not necessarily the best way to go about it, but for support, we chose a stamp with newlastname only, and can continue to use it after the wedding.
  • Thank you for your suggestions!
  • If you are receiving the cards, just list your (singular) name and address. You do not need to list FI, even if you two live together. Depending on your postal carrier, you might not receive mail that is not addressed with whatever name the post office has for you.

  • For the return address for STDs and invitations, we just put our address with no names. For the address for the RSVPs, we put The Smith/Jones Wedding and then our address.

I'll be putting my name.  Not his.  (We live together).  Then once we are married, I'll use "The OURLASTNAME" address on thank you cards, etc.

  • Just had the same problem-- we used our first names: We are not officially living together, but we used his parent's address as they have more dependable mail service:) We struggled with the last name for a bit, but we ended up really liking the first names:) Cheers!
