Centre Bridge Inn & Washington Crossing Inn

Hi everyone,
Looking at reception venues and came across two that FI & I are probably going to visit over the next week or two.  DId anyone have their wedding there, or go take a look at venue?  ANy other venues in New Hope, PA you may want to reccomend to me?

Just curious.  I know everyone's opinions and taste are different so any feedback good or bad is helpful.

  • I went to Washington Crossing Inn, but I won't be having my wedding there. The package was good, but there were a few things I didn't like about the place and they weren't willing to negotiate.
  • What did you not like about the place?  Just curious.

My fiance and I looked at Washington Crossing. Here's the reasons we didn't go with them:
    • It ended up not being our style (a little too outdated for our taste - mainly the ballroom, it would have clashed drastically with our colors.)
    • Outside ceremony area RIGHT next to where people will be eating for the restaurant, also could be loud (cars, etc)
    • Closest hotel they worked directly with was in Ewing, NJ - we wanted to be closer to an area with night life (we were hoping they worked with a place in New Hope)

I didn't look at Centre Bridge Inn

    Good luck!

  • Thanks for the info, things worthy to consider.  It's not too far from us so it may be worth a stop by anyway.

  • Similar reasons as the above poster. The outdoor ceremony space is attached to the outdoor restaurant space, and they refuse to close it even for 30 minutes for a ceremony/ I found that to be totally ridiculous. You would also have to share half of your bar outside with the restaurant patrons.  They have a piece of lattice work that they say they can put up, but that doesn't create any real separation. The entrace from the parking lot also requires walking through the ceremony space, and they did say that sometimes people "accidentally" walk through there. No thanks.

Also, if you don't walnt to walk through the restaurant to get to the ceremony, you were walking outside along a busy street like the other person mentioned.
  • Our ceremony is at our church so some of the ceremony issues won't be a problem. Thanks again for the feedback!

  • I heard Holly Hedge Estate in New Hope is really nice.

  • While in New Hope: scoot over to Doylestown and check out the Aldie Mansion.  Im getting married there next month! So excited.  It has been such a wonderful experience working with them.  The venue is amazing: a historic building, with a big open reception area - and the outside is my favorite part. A big slate deck, gardens, fountains- and the best part: its affordable! I know they have an open house every Tuesday, and I think sometimes on Sundays- - heres their website http://partyspace.com/provider/detail/765 Good Luck!

  • Thank you! I had a friend who got married there and said it was great too.  Good luck next month!
