Program Thank you

We are putting a thank you in our program. I have seen a couple examples I like online that thank the parents, bridal party and family and friends. My fiancé's parents have passed away and I never met them. My parents have been very involved and paying for majority of the wedding

The parent portion says: To Our Parents Thank you for always supporting us through the years and for helping to create this beautiful and special day in our lives. We appreciate all your patience, guidance, your love and generosity.

Do you think that is an appropriate to include? Is there something else you would say instead?

Thanks so much for your thoughts and input!

Re: Program Thank you

  • I think that's appropriate and a nice nod to their support.  I have seem similar paragraphs in wedding programs and it always makes me think well of the couple.

I don't know. Since FIs parents are deceased, it kind of rubs me the wrong way. Knowing me, if I was on your side and didn't know FI's situation, I'd probably be looking around for his parents so I could introduce myself or whatever. Could you make it more general?

To Our Families: Thank you for always supporting us through the years. We are grateful for your help in creating this beautiful and special day in our lives. We appreciate all of your patience, guidance, love, and generosity.
