Thankful Thursday

Hey ladies,

I don't post much anymore because of work, but I thought I'd post this morning. This whole thing with exFI has really made me reevaluate my life.

So today I thought would be a good day for giving thanks.

Things I am thankful for:
1. The ladies of NEY. Some of you truly have become my best friends and I am so very very grateful for all if you
2. My mom. She's a friggin psycho, but when I really need her she has stepped up in ways I didn't think possible.
3. My job
4. My pupster. She has been the best support through this whole thing.
5. My grandparents. To stand toe to toe with his parents and defend be was awesome

Your turn!!

Re: Thankful Thursday

  • Irish sending you all the hugs right now!

    What I'm thankful for:

My job-it gives me a reason to get up in the morning. I love my co-workers and I love what I do. I wouldn't trade it for the world

My family-we have our ups and downs but we still love each other.

My fur babies-you guys make me smile every morning when you climb all over us for attention

My NEY ladies-if it wasn't for you all, I would probably be on the BSC train right now. You are seriously the nicest group of women I've ever met!

My BF-I love that you don't care how I look, how I wear my hair and how I sometimes don't wear makeup and you still think I'm beautiful. I love that you help out so much more than I could ask at home. You're the best!

  • Irish- Lots of hugs!

I'm thankful for a whole lot lately. Sometimes when I'm driving to work and I think about how blessed I am to have a car, an apartment, and a job. Sometimes I want to smack myself because I will catch myself getting worked up about silly things like how expensive gas is and then I think....wow I have a car.

    Anyways I'm thankful for:

My parents because they are amazing and do so much for myself and our family. I'm thankful I can look at their marriage and see such a beautiful couple that has been happy for 25+ years and still going strong.

My FI because I honestly think he is a fairytale type guy that some how and in some way fell in love with me and chose me to be his. I'm one lucky girl and I can't wait to marry him.

NEY because without it I would be going super crazy at work and also it has helped me a ton a ton with this whole wedding planning thing. I would probably be a crazy hot mess if I didn't have this.

My coworker's puppies that were just born last night. I'm obsessed with them and I want all of them. That is all.

Hi Irish! I am super-new to the board, but just wanted to send some encouragement your way. Even with stuff going wrong, it sounds like you are handling everything with grace and calmness, and that is a great example for the rest of us.

As for things I am thankful for, here is a list:

*The opportunity to go back to school and have so much support from my family and BF. I'm really looking forward to it and will be so much happier in this new direction. Everyone has been so encouraging and thoughtful as I made this decision and did the ground work, and it's great to have such wonderful people in my life.

*That I don't need to accept anyone else's money to be able to do this. Though I will be living with my mom for the next 13 months, I will be able to pay for school and other bills/expenses by myself, and being able to do that feels great. So yay for quasi-independence.

*That my family is in such a great place right now after pushing through two heroin addictions and a divorce in the last five years (and that's just my nuclear family...). I am so amazed and lucky that everyone is alive and gets along so well after all of that!

*My health and the body I'm living in. Despite my couch potato tendencies and serious love of diet soda and chocolate, my body is in pretty good shape, so I am finally taking the baby steps to take better care of it. It's hard to get into, but I'm lucky I still have the chance.

*My new car and smartphone. I joined the 21st century all within the past couple of weeks. It was time to get a new car and phone - my car was from 1995 and no longer had A/C, and the phone was so old I could not get texts from some people. So I'm glad that I can have some nice things, and that I earned them and know I will take care of them.

I actually love to do this every night (well, most nights...) before I go to sleep. It helps me keep the important stuff in perspective for me.

Hi Irish, I'm don't think we've 'met' yet, but I want to say that you're handling your situation with a lot more class and grace than I would.

    Things I'm thankful for:

1.) I'm thankful that I can cry on my BF's shoulder when my job gets to be too much for me (like pretty much every day). I know he'll emotionally support me in whatever decision I end up making.

2.) I'm thankful for my kittycat, even though every one of our petting sessions includes her bathing one specific spot on my arm for about 15 minutes.

3.) I'm grateful that my apartment management has finally decided to take my flooding-every-time-it-rains and even now sometimes when it doesn't rain situation seriously. That gratitude is not keeping me from looking for a new place.

4.) I'm thankful for the ladies of NEY for keeping me level.
  • Irish- big hugs.  I'm really proud of you.

I'm trying to be thankful for things today but struggling (which is rare for me).  I'm just drained right now.  I'm still thankful to be healthy, for H and for my family...and I'm thankful you posted this, Irish, so I can try to get out of this funk and be the normally thankful person I am.
  • Sending you lots of hugs Irish I'm around if you want to talk.

I am grateful for our new home. I love it and I can't wait to move in this weekend

I am grateful for FI, he is so wonderful and loving.  He is able to calm me down and help me stress less especially when I feel so overwhelmed too.

I am grateful for NEY for keeping me sane and the wonderful friendships I have made.

I am so grateful for friends and family and the excitement and joy they share with us as we plan our wedding and move into our new home.

Hugs and puffy pink hearts being sent straight away, Irish! I am so sorry for what you are going through, but glad to hear that your family is there to support you.

I am thankful for having a low overhead right now, which makes it easier to weather unemployment.

I am thankful that Spring is coming, because I get very cooped up in the winters here.

I am thankful for my daughter who I can not only send into a fit giggles with very little effort, but who can also make me laugh on the daily.

I am thankful for my FI who is so supportive and never fails to be a cheerleader for me... a hot, manly cheerleader.

I am thankful for friends who share my love of books and come together for wine, yummy food, and discussion, and our friendship is all the stronger for it!

I am also thankful for kiddo's school community.  I have met so many moms who have been life savers when I needed emergency childcare, or who have been there with wine and sympathy when I was struggling, and I am happy to have been able to reciprocate, as well.

Awww, hell, I am thankful for wine.  No explanation or justification needed.

  • Big hugs, Irish. <3

I'm thankful for my BF, who is one of the best people I've ever known, and makes me happier each & every day.

I'm thankful for my friends - the ones who have been with me through all the ups & downs along the way. The ones who don't waver in their friendships - who I don't have to talk to every day to know that they're still there for me.

I'm very thankful for you biitches. I honestly don't know where I'd be without you. Some of you have become my best friends, and I can't imagine life without you now. I don't know how I'd make it through the day without talking to some of you, and I'm so glad that there are still blossoming friendships and things to come.

  • Lots of hugs Irish!

I'm thankful that this semester is almost over!

I'm thankful for my friends that I've made this year, there is no way I could've gotten through this year without them.

I'm so thankful for BF. He always supports me and encourages. He always makes me laugh when I'm sad and He always manages to make me feel beautiful on the days where I don't think I'm pretty at all.

  • I'm thankful for our little home, which may not be perfect or huge or decorated just right, but it's a place where I feel peaceful and relieved every time I walk through the doors.  plus it keeps me warm when it's cold, dry when it's rainy, and cool when it's 113 degrees outside.

I'm thankful for my veggie and herb garden.  it gives me something to do and think about when anxiety threatens to take over.

    I'm thankful for Estrostep.

I'm thankful for my H.  even though he's got his fair share of faults, he is very open to change.

I'm thankful for my two pups, Bella and Baxter.  until I have little humans, they are my kids!  Baxter is snuggled up in the chair next to me as I type, and I'm throwing the ball for Bella.  this is typical, but I love it!

I'm thankful for the longer days, green grass and trees, and blooming flowers.  I'm also thankful it's almost grilling season, so I don't have to cook as much...  I can pawn it off on H!
  • I am thankful for:

-My husband.  He's the best part of my life.
    -My health.
    -My cat, Annie.
-My friends, IRL and from NEY.  Specifically, my friend Alex, two friends from college, Liv, and Buggle.
    -A roof over my head
    -Clothes in my closet
    -Food in my refrigerator
    -Money in my bank account
    -My education
    -The nice weather

    HUGS IRISH!

    I am Thankful for:
-My husband of course, who supports me in my endeavours and pursuits, and makes me dinner for the late nights.
-My puppies who shower me with unconditional love and cuddles no matter the time, the way I look or smell.
-The chance of taking part in new experiences.
-The ocean and all the wonders that it holds.  I can't imagine being away from it.
-Laughter, without it I be bitter.
-A job to pay the bills and house to call my own.
  • Irish, I don't think we've really met either, but I'm sending you hugs as well!  I'm really glad your family has been so supportive :)

    I'm thankful for:

My job - for hiring me even though I came in as an over-educated temp with virtually no relevant job experience, for always saying thank you, and for paying me enough to support myself.

BF - for putting up with me and loving me unconditionally.

My parents - for always making sure I had everything I could ever need, and always always always being there when I need you.

My friends - for always just picking up right where we left off even when we haven't seen each other in months.

  • Lots of love going out to Irish and RWS.  I admire both of you greatly.

    I'm thankful for...

...the fact that I got a great education without spending a dime.  I have so many friends who are struggling with student loan debt, and sometimes I forget to be grateful that I'm not in that boat.

...my job.  Even though it's not what I ever thought I would be doing and it doesn't really use my skills or pay much, it's a great job in many ways.

...the incredibly comfortable, happy life I live.  I have a great husband, we live in a cute house, and we have 4 goofy animals that keep us entertained around the clock.

    ...diet coke.
  • I'm thankful for:

-My loving BF.  I have a wonderful partner, and I couldn't be happier with him, no matter how crazy he may drive me once in a while.

-My job. It may drive me crazy, but it's a job I do enjoy and it pays.

-My car for getting from point A to point B reliably.

-That I have my family to spend time with.
