"Equal" gifts for readers

Before the wedding, I'm taking all of the ladies involved in the wedding out the dessert as a "thank-you". This includes my bridal party, two girls who are close friends and are involved in other ways, and my FI's three cousins who are readers. At this dessert, I was going to give everybody their gifts. Now, I've spent a long time searching for gifts that work for each person and am really confident in all my choices, except for the cousins. I like them a lot, but I haven't spent much time with them and really don't know them well enough to choose a gift that would work. Honestly, neither does FI- although their families are very close, he hasn't really spent one-on-one time with any of the three. Plus, picking out gifts is hard for him. As of now, I've bought Target gift cards for each of them, but I'm feeling a little bad. Everybody else will be opening gifts that were obviously picked out for them, and these girls will be getting generic gift cards. What do you guys think?

  • I don't know many people who don't like gift cards. As long as you know they both shop at Target, I think that's fine. My uncle always gives us Walmart gift cards for whatever occasion, which is kind of a pain because we really dislike going there.

  • I think it's ok, although I would probably get a little something to go with the gift cards, like a candle, set of lip balms, or something like that if it would be remotely their thing.  That way they still have something to open, but you didn't spend all the money for their gift on something they might not like.

I was not aware of that; thank you. I will keep it in mind the next time we get one. We actually did use the last one we got, and have in the past swapped them with people who do go to Walmart, but that sounds like a nice option too.

This is what I'll do! I was just feeling strange about potentially spending money on something they'll just toss to the back of their closet. Now, off to Etsy to find good "little somethings". Thank you all!

I don't understand.  Are you taking them out for dessert or out to the desert?

I was wondering the same thing.  "Out the dessert" could be interpreted either way.
  • I'd be weary of giftcards.  You might find guests who recieved a gift eyeing the giftcard.
