It finally happened yesterday afternoon, 5/2/13, in the comfort of my own home in the kitchen - he proposed! Alan and I have been dating for six years (in June), living together for three and have been through so much over the last few years. We've been discussing marriage and getting married for a while now and I honestly wasn't sure if it was going to happen any time soon, he sure did surprise me I had no idea it was coming!!
I had surgery last Thursday 4/25/13, and have been under the weather for the last week so this was definitely unexpected and very welcomed!! I have put myself through undergraduate and now finishing my up Master's next year, I have secured my dream internship for this coming Fall which I hope turns into a permanent job afterwards, so it is really nice to be able to focus on something else that is great besides working & education which has always been the number one priority for me
And being a bit older, I'm 27 and he'll be turning 26 this year, I feel that we're in a very good place in our relationship and I think it came at a great time.
We are located in Kansas, but he is originally from Michigan (family is there) and I'm originally from South Carolina (family is there); we are planning a wedding in South Carolina which I'm super excited about!
